Problem: Android needed to communicate its platform's diversity and inclusivity while engaging users globally in a way that embodied their "Be Together. Not the Same" message.
Solution: Created an interactive experience that allowed people worldwide to design personalized Android characters through Androidify.com or the mobile app. Characters could be animated with signature movements and showcased on North America's largest digital billboard in Times Square, connecting individual expression with the global Android community.
My impact:
Created a library of custom signature animations for Android characters, exported as JSON for developer implementation
Designed animations that were applied to user-generated characters (25,000 daily) on Times Square's largest digital billboard
Contributed to an app that achieved over 10 million downloads
Part of a campaign reaching 660,000 Times Square visitors (45% international) during the two-day launch
Established a visual system that became a key part of Android's global brand identity
My role:
Animation Lead for global campaign
Developed signature character animations in After Effects
Collaborated with engineers on JSON implementation
Created animations for Times Square billboard display
Contributed to interactive user experience design
